A Dickens Christmas at Skaneateles

On the Friday after Thanksgiving, we drove to Skaneateles, New York to experience our first
 'Dickens Christmas.'

This is a town where they dress up like character from A Christmas Carol and walk around the town singing carols and being oh so jolly.

On the corners, they hand out free fire roasted Chestnuts and there is hot cocoa on every corner.
(Anthony did NOT like their cocoa, but I loved it)

It was really chilly, and somewhat sprinkling, so we didn't stay as long as we could have, but we still had fun.
We will definitely be going again next year.

Thanksgiving Break

My first Thanksgiving away from family was great. I loved it.
I am going to miss these days where we get a 4 day weekend with Thanksgiving.
That is one good thing about being in grad school.

Anthony got out of school on Wednesday, and we went for a walk in the Sapsucker Woods. There is bird watching forest just behind our apartments... It's a nice walk every now and then.

As always.. a nap on a walk

Amelia and Isla playing at Thanksgiving Dinner. Amelia tried puffs for the first time.

We put up our Christmas Tree. I really miss our old fire place to  hang our stocking.

How Anthony baby sits while I make dinner. Haha

7 Months

Amelia is 7 months old!

Where has the time gone? My baby is not a baby anymore... well she is still a baby, but not my little infant.
I can no longer stand up to rock her to sleep because she is too heavy, but on the plus side, she has learned to put her self to sleep without a whimper.

She is so independent and she loves putting EVERYTHING in her mouth. We are having so much fun with her and we can't imagine what we would do without her.

Some things about my ADORABLE 7 month old
-- This is our favorite stage so far. You are so playful and inquisitive
-- You had your first bath in a tub with out the baby tub! You loved it.
-- You are on your way to more and more solids. This month you tried: Butternut squash, pears, carrots, peas... YUM.
-- Visited Boston, Salem, and Albany
-- You got a terrible cold. The first night you didn't sleep until 8 am! I was exhausted ALL week. I never wish a sick baby upon anybody!
-- You had your first Halloween!  You were dressed as the cutest fairy.
-- You play by yourself and laugh all the time
-- You now put yourself to sleep. Naps you go down without even a cry. Bedtime you will do 2 little whimpers and you're out. Your dad was finally able to leave you in your room and cry it out for about 30 minutes and you have been an angel since!
-- You love the movie, Labyrinth
-- You say MMMM after every bite of food. It is adorably cute.
-- You are being weaned off your acid reflux meds... Going very well.
-- L.O.V.E.S. bath time
-- You get bored with your own toys and want everything we have.. phones, iPad, laptops, books.. HAIR.
-- You scoot backwards. Still not rolling over.
-- Oatmeal still gives your a tummy ache.
-- Your poop has turned hazardous. WHOA. It is no longer infant poop, it is full human poop. TMI??

We love you so much and we have loved watching you grown into a beautiful, happy, bouncing baby. You bring so much joy and laughter to our home and you are utterly adored.

We love you.

My Growing Girl

Halloween 2012

I quickly found out Halloween is NOT a day
where I get to dress cute and be someone/something
new for a day.

It is all about how freaking cute your baby is!

Cutest Sugar plum fairy around!

At the ward party

Isla and Millie.
The lady bug and the fairy.

We threw our costumes together about 10 minutes before our ward party.
This is what we came up with.

Luckily, I had some GIANT underwear for Anthony.

BAston... Or as people out side of MA would say, Boston

We took a train from Salem to Boston.
I love trains. I don't know why. So much better than driving!

First Time on a Train for both of them

City Folks
(It's hard to get a pic with Anthony's eyes open)

Mike's Bakery... SOOO GOOD

Boston was fun, but it was cold. And we didn't research anything to do, so we just walked around the cool streets, got some pastries, bought a cute hat, and went on our way rejoicing back to Salem.
