Utah in July

We flew to Utah on July 10 to attend the Brown's family reunion. We had an early flight and had to leave our house at 3am. Amelia fell asleep off and on throughout this whole day.

We were supposed to go boating with my family that Saturday, but they had some kind of fuse blow, so we just hungout. Amelia didn't know the difference, and thought playing in the boat was just the best thing since macaroni. Grandpa Ron even towed it around the neighborhood for a little joy ride.

We have missed these mountains too much. I think I become more of a mountain lover every time I come back home.
We went on a little walk up to bridal veil falls to feed the fish then up Big Springs to look at some bees my step dad, Ron, is keeping.

Anthony and I went on a little day date while my mom watched Amelia. We hiked the Y and I am pleased to say that I made it to the top. This was my first time making it to the top. I attempted in high school, but didn't prepare for how steep that sucker was. I saw people running up that thing! Crazy people. After the hike, we went to the Pizza Factory and saw Furious 7.

My mom took Amelia to the Springville Splashpad and she had a ball. She is such a cheeser and loves spending time with my mom.

Before heading up to Park City for the reunion, we stopped by the Salt Lake Temple to show Amelia where we got married. She kept telling us that she wanted to get married there too. (to Daddy or Dave, Anthony's cousin haha.) and of course. you can't go visit temple square without eating at the blue Lemon.

4th of July Weekend

Our 4th was a lot fun with some of our favorite visitors. Our friends, the Chords from Cornell, moved to Michigan and only 3 hours away from us! We are so excited about that I could barely contain my excitement.

We drove down Lisle for the "Eyes to the Skies Festival" just outside of Chicago to watch some fireworks and hot air balloons. Little did we know, it was a huge fair with a carnival, all the fried food, and a music festival. We had way too much fresh squeezed lemonade and homemade corn dogs. Anthony and Chis also got some GIANT turkey legs. so there's that.

on the 4th of July, we had a picnic at the splash pad where Amelia insisted on wearing goggles. It was pretty cute. And Baby Cale just dove right in to the water. He LOVED it.

After the splash pad and some naps, we went over to Dave's house (Anthony's cousin) for a BBQ and some fireworks.

June Happenings

June was filled with a lot of lazy days, swimming, and Mexican food. Amelia was just finishing up preschool at the Y so I would go and workout while she did that, then we would head to Six Flags for the day.

Amelia decided to superman her way out of the crib, so she got a black eye. Poor girl. And yes, she is still in a crib. No plans to take her out. She actually LOVES her crib and asked us if she can sleep in it until she is big like us. Sure why not.

Amelia finished up her preschool at the Y. It wasn't a true preschool, but more like an intro to preschool. They had a little lesson, play time, and always did a craft. She loved it and loved being with all her friends. We did other classes too with a lot of the same kids: gymnastics, sports, and swimming.

Since we moved from our town home in Lakemoor, to a new house in Crystal Lake, we lost our community pool. We decided that getting a Six Flags pass would be a good way to pass the time during the summer and give us access to a great pool. The water park is amazing and we have so much fun. Amelia loves sitting on my lap in tub on the lazy river. It gives me quite the ab workout having to half way sit up and paddle out of the path of waterfalls.

We moved into a much bigger place than we have lived in. Ever. So we had a lot of projects to do to make it feel more like home and less barren. Amelia helped us paint my old dresser. It was so nice to paint in a garage rather on the fire escape! We're moving up, people!

We went to see a movie in the park by the lake. Before the mosquitoes ruined the evenings.

Splash pads were a weekly occurrence.

We also perfected our pie making skills. Anthony sold me out for all of his work parties, pot lucks, and visitors. I am a little pie-d out.

We have a beach just down the street from us and we love it. Since we live in Crystal Lake, it is free to us and we definitely took advantage of that.

She is getting better and better at Hide N Seek.

Our littler mexican joint. Frequented much too often.

We went to Pirate's Cove with some of Amelia's favorite people.

June was a great month. I am really enjoying all the time I get to spend with Amelia. I swear she gets smarter and smarter every day and I am grateful I get to stay home with her and watch it happen.
