Having Fun in Utah

We missed Utah!
It was so fun being home and seeing all of our family and catching up with some friends. It felt like we never really moved. People are still there, doing their thing, and not much has changed. Which makes me feel good that I'm not  missing out on that much.

Amelia learned how to clap.
Grammy Nicole taught her!

Amelia was very missed by her cousins!

Visiting her aunts

At the aquarium in Murray

Hanging out at Grandma Great's

With Grandma Great

We went to see the Candy Windows at Macy's (the old ZCMI) at City Creek.
I have never seen them before and I loved them!

Utah Trip: 1

This is out LAST Christmas Vacation. It's all a little bitter sweet. It will be good to finally be done with school, for now, but I will miss school breaks. It's like we are going to be real adults with real problems: like paid vacation, and sick leave.

Anyway, we aren't there yet. So lets recap our last Christmas Vacation.

We flew out December 12. I don't think I can express how happy I am that I  never have to fly from New York to Utah with a toddler ever again.
I. Am. Over. It.

We thought if we strapped her in, it would go a lot better and she would feel like she was in a car. Wrong. We were so wrong. We tried to keep her busy, but she essentially screamed bloody murder about 3 times each flight.

I wrapped up all of her toys so it would interest her a little long. Which it did. I recommend it.

The last 20 minutes we became "those" parents. We didn't care.

Once we arrived it was all much needed family time.

Visiting Temple Square

We took Amelia sledding for the first time. She liked being pulled up the hill, so she endured going down.

Then we built a snowman. She loved playing in the snow.

Amelia:: 21 Months

When is the cutoff for calling your child a baby? Because Amelia will be 2 in April, and she is still my baby and my baby she will be. It is amazing how fast months can go, when the days seem to slither by.

The winter has hit full speed. Literally. the high was -7 today, so we make the 30 second walk to our car, freeze on the drive to gym, run inside. Recover in the gym for 2 hours. Run to the car. Freeze. Run inside. And stay for the rest of the day. So we are starting to get on each other's nerves, but we are also having a lot of fun. She is interacting more with her toys and being a nurturing soul. as well as being a crazy little human who screams at the top of her lungs for fun. She keep variety in our day.

We didn't have an official Dr. Appt, but we did go in Utah when she had croup and they gave us measurements, but no stats.
Weight:: 24.5 lbs
Height:: 33 1/4 inches

Some tidbits about my 21 month old girl:
-- Pray all time. You fold your arms and tell us to pray, sometimes 5 times during one meal and then you yell "MEN!" when we are finished.
-- You guys everyone. Especially kids your age. You are so loving.
-- We were at your friend Della's house, and we asked you to give her a kiss on her cheek. Instead, you grabbed her cheeks, squished them, and yelled "Cheekies!" It was so cute, and we all laughed. Now you give cheekies to everyone.
-- You love pancakes and french toast for breakfast, strawberries and raspberries. Unfortunately, you have become quite the picky eater. Lunch and dinner are almost impossible.
-- During naptime, I left your pants off so you would be more comfortable. Bad mistake. You reached in your diaper and smeared poop all over! It was horrible and, of course, you daddy was at school.
-- You love to go bye bye, and often grab a grocery bag, give us kisses and say "bye bye" while walking to the door.
-- You have started recognizing people in pictures other than mom and dad. You can say B (Braxton), Chris, E (Evie), Ma (grandma).
--Flew to Utah for Christmas Break. It was not the best flight, and you hated being strapped down. We are all very glad that was your last flight from and to New York. It is just way too long.
-- We went sledding in Utah. You didn't so much like going down, as being pulled up. I think you dealt with going down just so you could be pulled back up. When we went with Grandpa Russell and Sage, you went down with Lucy, and their dog Tanner ran in front of you two and the sled tipped over. You haven't gotten back in a sled yet, but we working on it.
-- You are talking so much more and understanding a lot of what we say. Reasoning with you works sometimes, but not often. You understand commands though, which makes our days easier.
-- You actually like a TV show now. Strawberry Shortcake. You will only watch about 4 minutes, but it is a start.
-- Christmas was a lot more fun for you this year. You knew what presents were and loved to open them. Though sometimes you just wanted to open your present and play with it instead of opening the rest. Understandable.
-- You. LOVE. Juice.
-- I can no longer grocery shop with you. you refuse to sit down in the seat, and want to walk around everywhere or sit where the food goes.
-- Everything that is not a fruit, drink, or meat is a cookie... Which makes figuring out what you want a little difficult.
-- You love pretend feeding your babies and pushing the stroller, building things, pretend cooking, throwing balls, spinning, jumping, screaming, and dogs.
-- Grandpa Brown gave you Cheetos and you love them, but dad does NOT want you eating them. He thinks they are too messy. They also introduced you to little smokies, which you love as well.
