38.5 weeks... holy cow.

37 Weeks

38.5 Weeks!
Well, it has been way too long. Completely missed March. I have zero motivation to do much of anything...

I have 10 days until the due date, but I have a feeling I am going to be going passed the due date. I am only dilated to a finger tip... whatever that means. Is that a one? She hasn't dropped and I am barely thinned. I have to pee so much! I only have one craving... ICE WATER. This doesn't help the peeing problem. I wake up every hour thinking I am going to die if I don't get ice water... so I also have to pee every hour.

I have been done working for a week now. I am so bored! I kind of wish I was still able to work, but there is no way I can stand for 9 hours. Baby is posterior and knocks against my tail bone constantly... It is killer. And now she is on my sciatic nerve. I had heard about how painful it can be, but WOW... I can't believe how it can just seize my whole body.

On Saturday night, I actually started having contractions in my back and really sharp pains. They were nowhere near consistent and I couldn't tell when they started or ended because it would start as back pain and then get intense and return to back pain... I thought "This is it!"... Nope, just a painful night. The doctor told me to start going on long walks. I added my own little twist to it. I straddle the curb and walk with one foot on the sidewalk and one foot on street. My  neighbors look at me really funny, but I don't care! I am ready to be done and meet my little baby.

The nursery is done. We have everything we know of that we need. I am sure there are things we don't know about, but it will be fine. I am never going to make a blanket for a baby shower until I am a grandma. We have so many blankets!

I am so ready to be DONE. It is a weird feeling to not want to be pregnant anymore, but to be so scared to have a baby. Not the labor part, but the actual taking-the-baby-home and wondering if I will like it. I know everyone tells me that you will automatically love the baby and it will all  come naturally... but I am so scared that I will hate being a mom.. I know it is weird, but I guess I am afraid of all the changes I hear about and changes I don't even know about! It will be fine, just having too much time on my hands to think about everything!

32 Weeks!

Can anybody else believe I'm 32 weeks? I surely can't. It is all happening so fast. Having doctor appointments every other weeks makes things seem to go a lot faster. I am not complaining though. I am ready to not be pregnant anymore, but not quite ready for the lil' munchkin to come. I am ready to sleep on my stomach, back or right side... ANYTHING but my left side. I am ready to sleep more than 2 hours at a time (though people keep telling me that's what it will be like once she is here) to pee. I am ready to get rid of this heartburn...

Not complaining, I really do love being pregnant, but sometimes I wish I could take a wonderful break. This trimester has been my favorite by far. I love feeling her move all the time! She is a nonstop mover, which I really like. It is very rare that I go 20 minutes without feeling her move a couple times. Anthony feels her everyday.

We had an awesome shower on Saturday. I was shocked at the turnout. We are so grateful for everyone that came. She was absolutely spoiled and it helped us out so much. I can't believe how much you really have to buy for babies! GEEZ! They're so little, but need so much.

We start our Lamaze classes on the 12th and hopefully I stay pregnant long enough to finish it! I am not so much nervous about the pain, as my ability, or lack of, to push her out. I haven't been the best at working out and I am worried I will tire too fast. We have been reading this book:

It is a book for natural, non-medicated child birth. He makes it sounds so easy, which kind of bothers me, but we are learning a lot of techniques to help out. Even if I do get an epidural, the reading will definitely help out.

We are so excited and ready to see what the little girl looks like!

28 Weeks

Wow.. I can't believe I am 28 weeks already... Almost 29.

I was hospitalized in January for a double kidney infection and a bladder infection. I guess my uterus is more on the right side and has pinched the tube from my kidney to my bladder. I have never been in so much pain. I was so dehydrated, the nurses had to use newborn IV's because my veins were so small. It was terrible.

My belly is getting HUGE. There are 2 pregnant girls at my work, due before me, and my belly is WAY bigger.. Blah.

She is definitely moving. I feel her all day. She kicks so strong it wakes me up and keeps me up.

We are setting up her nursery and it is looking more fit for a baby instead of our study. Makes me super excited. We are having a baby shower this month and I am so excited to put it in her nursery! EEK!
I seriously can't believe it is so soon...

We made this onesie. I love it, but it took forever!

Christmas and 24/25 week update

Click to make Larger.

Well, Christmas sure went by fast! I am now 25 weeks, but have been feeling under the weather and am falling behind on my baby journal. I can't believe how fast time is going! I signed up for my maternity leave and we are interviewing substitutes to come be my replacement for the rest of year and hopefully they can continue for next year. My last day is March 30 and I feel like it cannot come soon enough!

On Monday night I started getting really bad back pain and it continued to get worse throughout Tuesday. I thought it was just a pregnancy back ache, but then I started getting nauseated and throwing up... Turns out it was a kidney infection. I went to the doctor on Wednesday and he gave me an antibiotic. I hope it gets rid of it FAST... I never knew kidney infections were so painful! Ugh...

Baby girl got spoiled over Christmas! And she is definitely a GIRL. We had the 24 week ultrasound and it is very evident there nothing there. Pretty excited about that because we have so many girly clothes. And I wanted to show the cute stocking my grandma made so I guess we have to reveal our name we have picked out...

Amelia Nicole Brown

I sure feel like I am getting big... and sleeping is almost nonexistent. Before I was pregnant I probably had to pee 2-3 times a night anyways, I don't know why... Now, I get up about 5-7 times. It is CRAZY. I still can't tell if I have felt her move yet. I either always have gas bubbles or she is one crazy baby. I just can't decide. We know she is moving because the doctors have a hard time finding her heartbeat because she keeps kicking them! So that is good even if I can't definitely feel it.

Baby Nursery

Over Christmas Break, Anthony and I are going to clean out the room that will soon be a nursery.. As of now, it is our study/office, which is translation for piles of books, scrapbook paper, our desks, and A LOT of books.
I am so excited to start planning the nursery. Back when I though the baby was a boy, I decided I wanted the colors Grey, Mustard Yellow, and Cream so it could be gender neutral. Now that is it a girl... I want it to be girly. Double standard I guess.
I started crochenit a blanket with a chevron pattern. I used the grey theme colors, and it is getting so cute. The pattern is here: http://www.caron.com/projects/ss/ss2_zigzag_baby_blanket.html
I am really excited, but I think I want the colors to bright and girlish.
We will see. I have a bunch of print outs so hopefully I will pick it soon.

Week 20... and feeling GREAT.

(Click to make larger)

I am almost 21 weeks (tomorrow) but I have been so sick that today was the first day since last week I actually put clothes on... I am glad that is OVER. I came home from work on Friday morning with a terrible cold. Being pregnant and sick is the WORST. I can only take Tylenol... What does Tylenol do for a cold?? Nothing. It got so bad, that on Sunday we went to InstaCare and they gave me some nasal spray and today... Voila.. I feel so much better! I am going to work tomorrow and I will be so thankful for my health.
Today, Anthony and I started picking out colors for the nursery. I am going to try my crafty hand and making everything. So here goes nothing. I will let you know my success and failure as it comes.
